Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

Guidelines prohibiting abuse, network attacks, and unauthorized workloads

1. Purpose and Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy specifies forbidden activities on SM Cloud infrastructure to preserve optimal performance, IP reputation, and legal compliance for all hosted tenants.

2. Strictly Prohibited Activities

Engaging in any of the following activities will result in immediate service termination without notice or refund:

  • Denial of Service (DoS/DDoS) Attacks: Originating or participating in flood attacks, amplification scripts, or booter stresser services.
  • Cryptocurrency Mining: Running unauthorized crypto miners (e.g. Monero, Bitcoin, Chia) that artificially exhaust CPU/GPU cycles.
  • Malware & Phishing: Hosting command-and-control servers, spyware, trojans, ransomware, or fake login portals.
  • Unsolicited Mass Email (Spam): Transmitting bulk unsolicited promotional emails or operating open mail relays.
  • IP Port Scanning & Penetration Testing: Scanning third-party subnets without verified written authorization.

3. Resource Usage Guidelines

While your server is entitled to its allocated RAM and vCPU core allocations, sustained continuous 100% CPU lockups caused by faulty loops or memory leaks may be capped by automated kernel watchers to preserve host node stability.
